Licensed Professional Counselor, Member of the American Association of Christian Counselors

Juanita holds a Master’s in Counseling and Guidance from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California. She is a retired Board Certified Chaplain of 22 years and continues to hold a ministerial license with the Seventh-day Adventist church. In 2001, Juanita obtained a certification in Pastoral Counseling and became licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Kansas in 2006.

Her experience has focused in the areas of grief recovery, depression and anxiety, and adjustment difficulties in life’s transitions. She enjoys working with the adult child of an alcoholic family, addictions, and adult survivors of abusive childhoods with an emphasis on Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.

Juanita centers around a person’s “story” and how the strengths of their story can carry the client through the often painful areas found in their lives. She employs a multitude of approaches such as music therapy (although she can’t even carry a decent tune), poetry, collage work and inner child explorations.

Juanita is an active member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
